Germany, 1987

Less than two months after I went to work from Tandem Computers, my new boss, John B. asked me to travel to Germany and England with him to familiarize myself with the Tandem equipment on which I would be working. The objective was to attend Hannover Fair in Hannover, Germany. Hannover Fair was an exhibition of electronic equipment, and Tandem Computers had a large exhibition area (as shown in the photos).

However, John wanted to go skiing first, so we flew into Munich. Once we checked into our hotel, I went to bed and John went skiing. Most of my photos below were taken in a small town, but I can't remember the name since it has been 28 years since the photos were taken.

Then John rented a BMW and we drove on the Autobahn to Hannover. The BMW would only go 95 mph.

The last five photos were taken at the Hannover Fair.

Then we flew to England to meet with the people in the Tandem office there. Several of them were at the Hannover Fair. The photos that I took in England were not good, so none of them are in this slide show.
