Ruidoso

Sarah and I and our dogs have spent various summer vacations in Ruidoso starting in 1999.  Many of these pictures were taken in the Lincoln National Forest.

For our first vacation in 1999, we took our border collie, Andy. We found a very nice motel within the city of Ruidoso which allowed dogs. The motel was run by a lady with a very distinctive accent. In 2000, we called her again and were told that it would be okay to bring Andy, so we spent our 2000 vacation there also. Two years later, we called again and were told that they didn't allow dogs. When I reminded her that we had brought our border collie in 1999 and 2000, she denied that we had ever stayed there with a dog. So we now refer to that motel and the "crazy lady's place". I've taken all photos of that motel off our web site.

In 2002 and 2008 we stayed at the High Country Lodge, which is a good place, although we technically violated their dog policy (but with their permission).

In 2013, we stayed at the Bottlehouse Cabins. They are in an excellent location on the side of a hill, and the cabins are very nice, but very small and expensive. Our bed was in a loft, which Casey didn't like. After he whined most of one of the nights, we had to take turns sleeping on a futon downstairs to satisfy him.

The stereo photos from the 2013 trip are at "Misc > Stereo (3D) Photos > Ruidoso (2013)".
