Sapulpa, Tulsa & Sand Springs

Although I never formally lived in Sapulpa, most of my childhood memories are of Sapulpa.  My grandmother, Opal, lived there from the early 20th century until the mid 1970's.  My grandmother's house was at Main & Taft.  Main Street is on Route 66.

No matter where we lived while I was growing up, we always visited my grandmother at least one weekend a month.  When we lived in Tulsa, this was much more often.  Some of the places we lived were Sand Springs, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Fort Worth, and Dallas.

My other grandmother lived in Sand Springs until the late 60's or early 70's, then she moved to Sapulpa.  Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of her house.

The Sapulpa slide show below contains several pictures from the 50's, 60's, and 70's.  The last set of pictures was taken the next time I visited (for Heather's wedding), which was in 2010.  My grandmother's house had been replaced by a widened Taft street and a Walgreen's.  Some of the other houses that I remembered were still there, but most had been replaced by new businesses.

The Tulsa photos were taken in 2010. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from when we lived there.

The Sand Springs photos were taken in the 50's and in 1976.
